UX/UI was the perfect culmination of what I wanted in a career: creativity, analytics, and the opportunity to be with people and just…listen.
My teenage bedroom was filled with painted canvases, and notebooks lined with bad poetry written to make sense of difficult experiences. I was fascinated to learn everything and anything, attempting to get a better idea of who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. I studied architectural history and minored in art while a student in college. After graduating, I took jobs in writing, real estate, and administrative roles to understand who I was.
It wasn’t until a friend told me about UX, that I finally felt at home. While strategizing with the travel brand Pink Coconuts about a new Miami-based travel product, I learned about the challenges that Queer Womyn face when it comes to meeting like-minded partners, and the role tech could play in creating real-life connections with share group experiences. I could be creative, problem-solve and make the world a better place.
I’m a UX Designer constantly looking for new things to take apart and put back together, better than I found it.
